Approach

Substance abusers are seeking help from today's church, and there is an undeniable sense that God wants to offer hope to those caught in this.  However, many in the church are unsure of how to counsel those in need, and the help of secular philosophies does little to change the heart of the substance abuser.

His Steps Ministries is different.  We believe God wants to bring true and permanent change to the lives of substance abusers through a relationship with Jesus Christ and the unfailing study of His Word. We emphasize:

  • A discipleship ministry offered through the local church

  • Personal responsibility through a discipleship program tailored to meet each individual’s need, over a six month period

  • A focus on the whole family to promote a biblical lifestyle

  • Regular guidance and counseling from biblical counselors

A message from
Lou Priolo, Director of Eastwood Center for Biblical Counseling

Under the direction of Tim Brown, His Steps Ministry is a rare biblical gem in a world of secular treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction. The residential setting is Christ-centered in its daily routine with all counseling from a nouthetic perspective. Tim is uniquely qualified to present the Gospel and has dedicated his life to helping those who struggle with the life-dominating sin of addiction. I have seen the results of God’s work through His Steps and would encourage pastors, counselors and families to consider this ministry when the need arises for a biblical approach to long-term residential care.

--Lou Priolo, Director of Eastwood Center for Biblical Counseling in Montgomery, AL; NANC Fellow; teacher and author of Heart of Anger, The Complete Husband, and Teach Them Diligently.
